| Indeed. This was only a test though. I think that I'll keep the Limcat build a simple two-tone. | |

| hkssr20det, I like that kimber! Do you know of anyone that is still selling the WA LAPD SWAT Kimber? Every US retailer I know of either has it out of stock or completely removed from the site. Do you know why? Did they quit making them? | |

| Looks nice. It's almost identical to Juniors (It now belongs the ViciousV10) old gun.
I have always been a fan of STI's and I always liked the executive with the grey grip. It's just a nice subtle combination.

| Is that a Freedom Art frame on it Kevorkian? Looks like their chrome, but I have never seen one for a 5.1. | |

| You got it ! Freedom Art it is & they do make them for the 5.1. It is a chrome finish & they also come in black. I've seen the Gold gilded 4.3 Freedom Art frame with compensator but try & find a matching slide? | |

| Nice group photo.
It's always fun to see peoples collections. Is the SVI built on a Freedom Art frame as well? How are they to fit. I have heard not that great but since it looks like you have done several I'd be interested to hear your views.

| They shouldn't be called Freedom Art frames cause you're going to needs some (lots) of "free-time" to custom fit these babies to your new slides! I like the chrome because it is much more durable than the black one. This is not to say that the black can't take a ding, you just have to be extra careful.
To get a proper fit one must have patience & a very good metal file. This is some thing that cannot be rushed! File...fit...file...fit...file...fit...you get the message!
I've done two fit-ups and both went very well! Each slide was different when it came to how much material had to be removed for proper fit-up.
Filing and fit-up are the easy steps...you still have to take everything apart from the stock frame & transfer it all over into the new one! Don't lose anything or you won't be putting it back together, there are some tiny springs & parts that can fly out when you least expect it!
It took me about 4+ hours doing the first one - start to finish! The next was only a couple...you'll get the hang of it sooner than you think! It can be frustrating & when this happened to me I just walked away for a bit, cleared my head & went back at it!
Word to the wise...PATIENCE, you'd better have some (if not find some) if you're looking at getting a Freedom Art frame for that Hicapa of yours!!

| After hearing how much effort it takes I think that I would have to go with the SD frames even though they cost and arm and a leg. Thanks for the info. | |

| You would rather spend $250 bucks on a SD frame as opposed to a Freedom Art which is only $90? It ain't that hard! You're not even guaranteed a perfect fit with the SD frames either! | |

| It's not just the fitting. I like the finish on the SD frames way more and maybe the biggest benefit is getting full trades. It's almost worth it just for the trades alone. ____________________________________________________________________ I wanted to post up pictures of my STI Hybrid redone with the comp and grey frame but rather than bore everyone with pictures similar to the others I have pout up this week I thought that I'd get a bit more creative. What I am really after is whether people think that I should keep the grey frame or not. My other upgrade to this will be a black WE grip since I hate stock Hi-Capa grips. Cheers | |

| Finally got around to taking a few pictures of the first phase of my Limcat. I am still working on sourcing the SD barrel to run my comp with and I have a few other surprises as well. However, I couldn't wait on pictures any longer so here goes. These first two show the difference between the Black mag base and the custom painted mag base. I am still trying to decide which one is better and would like to gather as many opinions as possible. | Strange, I normally don't really like 2011s, nor did I like that style of paint on the Sig grip very much, but that 2011 actually looks incredible. I really like it. I like the painted mag as well. | |

| Thanks.
It's funny, some race gun fans aren't so into the grip but others who aren't normally fans seem to like it.

| I think it's because it reminds me of a tiger, and that just makes me smile. I really gotta say though, if I had a 2011, I'd want it to look just like that. | |
